Mental Health Conditions we treat
AnchorPoint’s residential program treats a full range of mental health conditions in men, including:
- Depression and high-functioning depression: Including for men who are professionally successful, but quietly falling apart.
- Anxiety disorders: Chronic worry, physical tension, sleep disruption, and the inability to ever fully switch off or wind down.
- PTSD and complex PTSD: From combat, first responder trauma, childhood abuse, sudden loss, or years of accumulated relational stress.
- OCD: Intrusive thoughts, compulsive behavior patterns, and the exhausting cycle of attempting to manage them alone.
- Co-occurring disorders: Mental health conditions that developed alongside, or in response to, substance use.
These conditions are treatable. But they require more than a surface-level approach. They require time, structure, and clinical care designed for men.
How We Treat Mental Health Challenges at AnchorPoint
AnchorPoint’s residential program integrates evidence-based clinical care with physical wellness, structured community, and a Christ-centered foundation.
Our clinical team works with each client to identify what is driving the symptoms, whether that’s unprocessed trauma, a neurological pattern, a relational wound, or some combination.
Medication management is available for men who need it and is integrated into the broader treatment approach rather than treated as a separate track.
A Campus Built for Recovery
Effective mental health treatment requires more than a good therapist. It requires an environment that supports the nervous system’s ability to settle, reflect, and rebuild.
Our Prescott campus was designed with that in mind — a structured, distraction-free setting where men can do serious clinical and spiritually transformative work.

Evidence-Based Therapies That Get to the Root
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
CBT is effective across a wide range of conditions, including depression, anxiety, OCD, and co-occurring substance use. It helps men identify the thought patterns driving their behavior, challenge the distortions, and build new ways of responding to stress, setbacks, and difficult emotions.
Dialectical behavior therapy
DBT was developed specifically for clients whose emotional experiences feel overwhelming and difficult to regulate. For men dealing with intense emotions, impulsivity, or relational instability, DBT provides tools that are practical and applicable such as mindfulness, distress tolerance, and interpersonal skills.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
EMDR works by helping the brain reprocess traumatic memories that have become stuck, reducing their emotional charge without requiring a person to relive them in detail. For men with PTSD or unresolved trauma, EMDR can produce meaningful shifts that talk therapy alone may not reach.
Internal family systems (IFS)
Mental health conditions often fragment our internal world. IFS offers a framework for understanding and reconciling those internal parts, so that men can build a coherent sense of self that isn't defined by a diagnosis or a decade of coping mechanisms.
Attachment-Based Family Therapy
The people closest to a man are often both affected by his struggles and are essential to his recovery. Family therapy sessions at AnchorPoint help rebuild communication, repair damaged trust, and give families the tools to support recovery without enabling the patterns that got in the way of it.
Mental Health Treatment for Veterans and First Responders
Our trauma-informed team has direct experience working with veterans and first responders dealing with combat-related PTSD, occupational trauma, moral injury, and the particular kind of grief that comes from losing colleagues in the line of duty.
If you served, we understand what it cost you. This program was built with men like you in mind.

Great place and great staff. The staff was there for anything I needed and was always willing to sit and hear me out whenever I would feel out of place or struggling with the idea of being and staying sober. It also helped me rebuild my relationship with God which was the main reason I came. Thank you Anchorpoint!

I’ve known the team at Anchor Point for years. The recovery community has been waiting for their residential program to open and after touring it exceeded all expectations. As a Christian man in recovery myself I’m blown away by Holdfast/Anchor Points integration of treatment and the principles of Christ. We see success story after success story coming from their program. Thanks for all you do to advance the Kingdom and restore men to health.

After years of struggling with substance abuse and deep-rooted trauma, my loved one was lost, hopeless, and disconnected from both himself and God. AnchorPoint not only helped him find recovery, but also led him back to faith and a completely new way of living. The compassion, patience, and dedication of the team is unlike anything we’ve experienced. They didn’t just treat symptoms, they helped him heal from the inside out. Today he’s thriving, living a healthy spiritually grounded lifestyle. We are forever grateful for the role AnchorPoint played in this transformation.
